There’s nothing worse than staining your lovely clean carpet – but by following a few easy steps, you can minimise the damage.
First of all, clean up stains as soon as possible. The longer a stain is left, the less likely you are to get it out.
When cleaning, first scoop up solids, then blot up as much liquid as you can. It’s best to do this with a clean white toweling cloth.
Apply your spot removal cleaner to your clean cloth and gently dab the stain. Rinse with lukewarm water, but be careful not to saturate the carpet.
As tempting as it is, don’t rub the carpet! It will permanently distort the pile of the carpet. Dabbing is your friend!
Dry the area by dabbing with a paper towel, or use a cool fan.
